My Philosophy and Pillars of Treatment at MNJ Chiropractic & Wellness Clinic
Matthew Westrich

At MNJ Chiropractic & Wellness Clinic, our philosophy of care is built on simple but powerful beliefs: the body is designed to heal, small adjustments can create big changes, and everyone deserves personalized, compassionate support on their wellness journey. These guiding principles have shaped my path since childhood and continue to define the way we care for patients throughout Palmetto Bay, Cutler Bay, Pinecrest, Kendall, and the surrounding Miami communities.

My approach has been shaped over decades—by early experiences watching my mother find relief through chiropractic care, by years of education and hands‑on learning, and by thousands of patient stories that have reinforced the same truth: when you support the body the right way, healing becomes possible. Below, I share the philosophy behind our work at MNJ Chiropractic & Wellness Clinic and the core pillars that guide every treatment plan we create.

Early Inspiration: How Chiropractic Care Became My Calling

My journey into chiropractic care began long before earning degrees or opening a clinic—it started when I was still in preschool. My mother suffered from chronic headaches and TMJ, and I vividly remember accompanying her to her regular chiropractic visits. I didn’t fully understand the science at the time, but I understood the impact: she felt better, functioned better, and showed up differently in our day-to-day life. I could see the relief on her face. I could feel the peace that followed.

Those early visits changed both of us. Watching my mother get better—and feeling the benefits of adjustments myself—sparked a simple desire that has stayed with me ever since: to help people the way her chiropractor helped her. That experience became the foundation for everything I do today as a Palmetto Bay chiropractor serving families across South Florida.

Building a Strong Educational Foundation

To pursue that calling, I earned my bachelor’s degree in biology with a minor in chemistry from Florida State University in 2002. With a passion for understanding the human body and how it functions, I continued on to Parker College of Chiropractic in Dallas, Texas, where I graduated as a Doctor of Chiropractic in 2005.

While still in chiropractic school, I spent eleven weeks in Mexico City helping treat patients at a new chiropractic school. That experience taught me the importance of adaptability, connection, and hands‑on problem‑solving. I learned how to communicate across cultures, how to earn trust, and how to approach chiropractic care with both skill and humility. The opportunity to serve in that capacity has stayed with me and continues to influence how I work today.

From South Florida Roots to Opening MNJ Chiropractic & Wellness Clinic

Before opening my own office, I worked in several clinics throughout South Florida, learning from experienced doctors and gaining exposure to a wide range of patient needs. I have always been eager to learn, especially when it comes to new techniques, therapies, and ways to help people heal. Over the years, I’ve had the privilege of caring for thousands of patients right here in my hometown—people who, in many ways, helped me achieve my dream of opening a clinic built on service and community.

In May 2018, that dream became reality when I opened MNJ Chiropractic & Wellness Clinic in the heart of Palmetto Bay. As a one‑doctor, walk‑in‑friendly office, we offer a warm, welcoming space where people can get the care they need without obstacles or complications. Our flexible schedule, our broad range of treatment options, and our commitment to family chiropractic care have made our clinic a trusted resource for patients of all ages—from newborns to older adults.

Our Philosophy of Care: Treat the Cause, Support the Body, and Empower the Patient

Every patient who walks into our office brings a unique story, lifestyle, and set of challenges. Our philosophy is rooted in understanding the person, not just the symptoms. Chiropractic care is more than “cracking backs”—it’s about restoring motion, reducing inflammation, and helping the body function as it’s designed to.

Our approach focuses on:

  • Identifying the true source of dysfunction rather than chasing symptoms.
  • Using natural, non‑invasive techniques that work with the body’s innate ability to heal.
  • Offering personalized care plans based on goals, lifestyle, and individual needs.
  • Empowering patients with education, guidance, and tools for long‑term wellness.

This philosophy is woven into every adjustment, every conversation, and every treatment recommendation—whether someone is seeking relief from chronic pain, recovering from an injury, or looking to improve overall wellness.

The Pillars of Treatment at MNJ Chiropractic & Wellness Clinic

Over the years, our clinic has grown to offer a variety of therapies designed to support the body from multiple angles. These pillars of care allow us to build comprehensive, individualized treatment plans:

1. Gentle, Effective Chiropractic Adjustments

Chiropractic care remains at the core of what we do. From traditional spinal adjustments to extremity adjustments for shoulders, elbows, wrists, knees, and ankles, our goal is to restore mobility, reduce discomfort, and improve function throughout the body. For many families in Palmetto Bay and the surrounding communities, these regular adjustments are essential for staying active, working comfortably, and preventing future issues.

2. Spinal Decompression Therapy

For patients dealing with disc issues, sciatica, or chronic low‑back pain, spinal decompression provides a gentle, non‑surgical way to reduce pressure and promote healing. It’s one of our most popular therapies because it offers relief for conditions that often feel overwhelming or difficult to treat.

3. Shockwave Therapy and Soft‑Tissue Solutions

Shockwave therapy has become a powerful tool in our clinic for reducing inflammation, breaking up scar tissue, and accelerating healing—especially for chronic issues like plantar fasciitis, tendonitis, or stubborn muscle pain. Combined with massage therapy and electrical stimulation, it helps patients move more freely and recover more quickly.

4. Hyperbaric Chamber Therapy

Our in‑office hyperbaric chamber offers a unique treatment option that supports cellular healing, reduces inflammation, and promotes recovery. Whether patients are healing from injury or searching for overall wellness benefits, hyperbaric therapy has become a valuable component of our care plans.

5. A Whole‑Family, Walk‑In‑Friendly Approach

As a family chiropractic clinic, we treat patients at every stage of life. Our walk‑in model means busy families and working professionals can get care when they need it—without stress, waitlists, or complicated scheduling. This flexibility is one of the things our patients appreciate most.

6. Collaboration Through Wellness Modalities

With on‑site massage therapy, extremity care, orthotics, acupuncture, and supplemental therapies, we aim to provide a full range of wellness options in one comfortable location. By combining multiple modalities, we support the whole person—not just isolated symptoms.
